Ready Player One

We have this premise for the Ready Player One book, that leaves into this world where a virtual reality it's a refugee for this cruel reality. I find some interesting similarities with our actual world, getting us into this new virtual world having our relations using social networks, getting our food, clothes and almost everything using apps, there is so many things that have been evolving to maybe lead us to a similar future like the Ready Player One. In time we may have something similar, that kind of possibilities are evolving really fast, and the total immersion into virtual world it's a classic science fiction fantasy, if we got to the moon, we can do this, the only question is, how long do we have to wait.

Living into a different reality, just because our reality is that broken that no one can think a way for the repair, it definitively sounds like us, so many people trying to avoid problems using the video games, giving appearances via Instagram and having this hole fantasy of a perfect life just for another 100 likes on Facebook, forgetting everything ang getting addicted to a new Netflix series. These are our virtual reality, our OASIS, maybe not in the same magnitude, but we have our ways of getting away all this screwed world we got. Maybe is a necessity for us to survive to forget everything, but being conscious that we cannot do it for that long, that we must take responsibility for our environment, even when our generation didn't create that chaos, we have to get back to reality, and to change this reality for the future.

Some of the most worrying things about getting globalized, or even like in Ready Player One, being unified, it's that we lost some connection to our traditions, to our culture and to our past. For some people this might sound not important, and it seems that it's great to start to be inclusive with the people around the world, but we lost perspective, we lost this uniqueness that characterizes every region, we lost this capacity for getting  new solutions because of the identity each of us gets. We just seem to prefer being identified with the European or American culture, to be identified even more with this lifestyles, that just destroys so many potential for us to develop having the differences that we born with, that we learn from our parents. For me that's the worst part, and one that we are adapting every day more into our lives, but only each of us can determine if we want that  for ourselves.
